Careers · pre-seed

One founder today.
First hire post-Seed.

Allometry is solo-founded and pre-seed. Open roles haven't been posted yet — the team scales after the pre-seed closes. If you've run a pricing book, a dispatch board, or a finance team inside an infrastructure operator, send us a note now. Pre-applications go in the queue and we'll reach out when roles open.

§ How we work

Quietly. Carefully.
For the long arc.

Allometry is a small team building a tool that gets used by CFOs to defend tens of millions in margin. That is a serious responsibility — and it shapes everything about how we operate.

We work in two-week cycles, with one mid-cycle review and one end-cycle ship. There are no all-hands stand-ups, no Slack at midnight, no theatrical urgency. We trust people to manage their own time; in exchange we ask for clean writing and honest weekly updates.

Customer-facing roles are customer-paired from week one. Your first month, you'll sit in on three Solutions Architect calls and read four customer reviews end-to-end. We do not believe in onboarding decks; we believe in being on the operator side of the table.

Engineering is document-first. Every nontrivial change starts with a 1-2 page memo. PRs without memos get pushed back. This slows things down by about 10% and is how a small team ships like a big one.

We are remote-first with HQ in Montréal. Once we hire post-Seed, we'll cluster early hires in North American time zones — first hire is Head of Engineering. Long-term we'll hire on talent and operator background, not zip code.

§ Benefits

The boring stuff, done well.

We don't try to be clever about benefits. We try to be honest. Here is what every full-time hire gets, regardless of role.

§ 01 · Pay

Top of band, transparent

We benchmark to top quartile of YC + S2 SaaS. Bands are public internally, posted on every role spec. Your offer is your level + market — no negotiation theater.

§ 02 · Equity

Real grants, 10-year exercise

Every hire gets meaningful equity with a 10-year post-termination exercise window. We have early exercise, 83(b) help, and a calculator that doesn't lie.

§ 03 · Health

Premium plans, 100% covered

Medical, dental, vision — for you and dependents. Mental health stipend $200/mo, no questions. International equivalents in EU markets.

§ 04 · Time off

5 weeks · 4 of them mandatory

Five weeks of vacation. Four are mandatory — we mean it. Unlimited PTO with a real floor — rest is part of the shipping plan, not a loophole.

§ 05 · Setup

$3,500 home office stipend

Plus a refresh every two years. We don't sweat receipts; you know what you need to do good work. Co-working memberships covered.

§ 06 · Family

20 weeks parental leave

Twenty weeks fully paid for any new parent. Phased return, your call. We've seen operators try to be heroes here; the data says don't.

§ 07 · On-sites

Quarterly · all-team

Four on-sites a year, four nights each, all-expenses. Team on-sites start with the first hires — founder is Montréal-based, the work is remote-first.

§ 08 · Learning

$2,500/yr, no approval

Books, courses, conferences, software. Spend it as you see fit. We post receipts in #learning so people steal each other's good ideas.

§ 09 · The Allometry tax

Saying "no" is part of the job

If you can't say no to a customer, an investor, or a co-worker — this is not the place for you. The job is making the call, not making everyone happy.

§ Roadmap · post-Seed

First roles, Q3-Q4 2026.

These are the roles we'll post once the Seed closes and the platform hits its next maturity gate. Pre-applications welcome — if you fit one of these shapes, write to hire@allometry.com now and we'll be in touch when the role opens.

§ Honest framing

Compensation bands will publish with each role at posting time. We aim for top-of-market for the stage (pre-seed → seed) with meaningful early equity. No engineering ladder yet — the first three hires are senior-level, shaping the culture as they go.

If you're not in the queue when we post, you'll be competing with people who applied months earlier. Send the note now.

§ Process

Four steps. Three weeks.
No takehomes you'll resent.

We respect your time. The process is short, paid where it should be, and run by the people you'll work with — not a screening service.

Intro

30 min · with hiring lead

What you've shipped, what kind of operator you've been, what you're looking for. No "tell me about a time when" — we hate that. Just a real conversation.

Week 1
Working session

90 min · with the team

A real problem from a recent customer. We work it together on a whiteboard. You ask questions, we ask questions, no scoring rubric. You see how we think; we see how you think.

Week 2
Operator panel

3×45 min · with peers

Three conversations with people you'd work with daily. Two from your function, one from a customer-facing team. Compensated $400 if we don't make an offer.

Week 2-3
Decision & references

Offer or honest no, in 5 days

We make decisions in 48 hours after the panel. References are 2-3 calls we run; no ATS spam to your network. Offer letter is plain English with bands shown.

Week 3
Don't see your role?

If you've run a P&L
at an operator — email us anyway.

We expect to pre-empt many of our hires. If your background fits, we'll find a way to talk — even if there isn't a posted role.
